Barnet College Person-Centred Counselling
I offer Person–Centred low–cost counselling to counselling students, including those on the Person–Centred Counselling course at Barnet College. I am about 5 mins' drive from Barnet College (Colindale campus, Grahame Park) and about 20 mins' drive from Barnet College (Barnet campus). Fees by negotiation.
Counselling Students

Colindale is about 15 mins drive from Harrow College, Harrow on the Hill campus (via Kingsbury), and 20 mins from Harrow College (Harrow Weald campus) and CPPD in Hornsey.
Person–Centred
I was trained in Person–Centred counselling at Harrow College. I see person–centred as the "homeopathic like" or "holistic" counselling model, where as counsellor I bring my whole being and I respond to the client as they are. For me, "person centred" counselling is in contrast to most other models, which offer "problem centred" counselling.
I fully share the Person–Centred Therapy Scotland understanding of the essence of what it means to be person centred:
The Person Centred Approach is based on a deep respect for the person, and the belief that the relationship between the counsellor and the client is of primary importance.
It is the client who knows what hurts and who has the capacity within the safety of a therapeutic relationship to begin a healing process.
The essential qualities which we believe create a safe, supportive and challenging therapeutic environment include:
- A deep acceptance of the person.
- A willingness to understand that person.
- A commitment to being genuine in the relationship.
These qualities, offered professionally and consistently, are the central and distinctive characteristics of the Person Centred Approach.
